Problem How to activate touch functionality with Mac OS?

The e-Screen touch monitor operates with Next Window touch technology and USB connection.

NextWindow USB products do not require special software; the touch screen communicates directly with the computer's operating system via the USB interface, just like a USB mouse. However, an optional USB Configuration program that allows you to change various default settings is available in the Touch+ software suite.

For the e-Screen to operate with MAC OS and touch functionality, a default setting in the USB configuration must be changed.

Note: The Touch+ software is not supported on Apple Macintosh computers. The touch screen settings can be changed using a PC before connecting the Apple Macintosh.

 Check this

STEP 1: INSTALL THE TOUCH+ SOFTWARE ON A WINDOWS PC

1. Go to http://www.nextwindow.com/nextwindow_support/software.html

to download the Touch+ Installation files (nwtouch29_inst.exe) on your Windows PC.

2. Make sure the power is connected to the touch screen and switch on.

3. Connect the USB cable from the Windows PC to the touch screen.

4. Run the Touch+ program and go to: USB config.

USB Config is a program that allows you to check various operating parameters in the touch screen when it is connected to a computer via a USB cable. This is useful for diagnostic purposes.

Note

When you make a change in USB Config, remember to click [Save] to save the new settings to the touch screen.

The program should display the following dialog:

USB config dialog window

STEP 2. ENABLE MAC COMPATIBILITY

USB config dialog window - Mac enabling

NOTE: If running in a later stadium again with Windows, for the multi-touch functionality to operate again, the setting must be disabled!

STEP 3: APPLE MAC MODE

After disconnecting the Windows PC and connecting the Apple Mac computer via USB, the calibration program must be followed.

To operate with an Apple Mac computer, the e-Screen must be in Apple Mac mode. This is achieved by running the calibration program - see page 18 of the User Manual. You only need to run this program once only-when first connecting to an Apple Mac.
